Hayden Panettiere halted the filming of hit show Heroes to come to the rescue of some nearby birds.
The 19-year-old actress and vehement animal-rights campaigner - who plays indestructible cheerleader Claire Bennet in the BBC show - was furious when a crew member apparently suggested using a leaf blower to disperse a flock of birds in a nearby tree who were disturbing filming.

According to The Sun, Hayden shouted: "What are you doing? How would you like someone to blow that thing inside your house?"

She kicked up such a fuss the production team were apparently forced to move to a different location to film the scene and the birds remained undisturbed. Hayden is a vegetarian and in 2007 had a warrant issued for her arrest in Japan after protesting against dolphin hunting.
