The CW has picked up three dramatic pilots including shows produced by Heroes' Hayden Panettiere and Smallville's Tom Welling, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Panettiere's HMS follows the lives of a sexy freshman class at Harvard Medical School through the eyes of one of the female students. Amy Holden Jones (Mystic Pizza) wrote the script and will co-exec-produce with Panettiere.

Gilmore Girls creator returning to the CW for new pilot. Hellcats, executive-produced by Welling and writer Kevin Murphy, is an ensemble show about the world of competitive cheerleading. Betwixt, based on the novel of the same name, centers on the "changelings" responsible for saving humans from evil. Elizabeth Chandler (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) and Paul Stupin (Make It or Break It) will executive-produce.
