ARE times hard over at Hayden Panettiere’s house since Heroes was cancelled? Has she been reduced to paying for her red carpet frocks in installments? Why else would she have chosen this bizarre, half dress, half cheap and nasty lingerie combo to grace the CMT Country Music Video Awards in Nashville.

Don’t misunderstand, we like Hayden as a rule, she’s very pretty and fresh-faced and all-American looking, although she usually dresses far too old for her age. This time, she’s decided to go in the opposite direction and dress like a desperate slightly slutty teenager on prom night.

Either that or someone who got caught unawares in her underwear and grabbed the nearest bit of curtain to improvise. While we’re on the subject of things we don’t like about this ... how about the hair? Less of a sexy must-have Carey Mulligan crop and more of a Julie Andrews from the Sound of Music.

The hills are alive with the sound of shrieking at the sight of it. Save the cheerleader – save the world from any more bad frocks and bad dos.
