I loved shooting lesbian scenes for new series of Heroes

GORGEOUS Heroes star Hayden Panettiere will steam up our screens with a girl-on-girl smooch in new season of the hit US show. And the 20-year-old actress admitted she loved shooting the scenes. Her character, cheerleader Claire Bennett, goes to college and meets new room-mate Gretchen - Madeline Zima of Californication fame - who swiftly develops a major crush on the cute blonde.

Hayden said: "Claire has a room-mate who is the biggest relationship in this season because she has finally got what she had with Zach, her friend in the first season, which was a confidante and somebody who she can tell her secrets to."She hasn't had anyone like that since then.

"Then this new character Gretchen comes along, and she becomes that person for me."It's a very interesting relationship because there's a little bit of a flirting with, 'Are we friends? Are we more? Do I have feelings for you in that way?' "That's the relationship so far and where exactly it's going, I have no idea.

Hayden Panettiere And Masi Oka Talk Fourth Year Of 'Heroes'

Until then, here's what Hayden Panettiere who portrays Claire Bennet, a teenager who has the power of rapid cellular regeneration that allows her to heal quickly and Masi Oka who portrays Hiro Nakamura, a man who has the ability of space-time manipulation had to say about Heroes.

Eric Stromsvold: As we're going into the fourth year of the show, do you feel like you have a tight grip on your character or are you still learning things as you come along?

Hayden Panettiere: It's a little tough because even though we are playing the same characters, you really do have the whole writing staff taking us in whichever direction they want to. And on this kind of show there's infinite amount of possibilities of where you could go, whether you stay good, whether you turn bad [and] who you're working with.

Heroes Masi Oka And Hayden Panettiere

Heroes Masi Oka And Hayden PanettiereHayden Panettiere: It’s a little tough because even though we are playing the same characters, you really do have the whole writing staff taking us in whichever direction they want to. And on this kind of show, there’s infinite amount of possibilities of where you could go, whether you stay good, whether you turn bad, who you’re working with.

So it’s always a surprise. We know our characters so well now that we can see what they -- or figure out what they would do in these situations and go from there. But really you never know what you’re going to be playing.

Masi Oka: Yeah, I agree. And I think that’s what keeps it interesting and challenging, you know. There’s definitely something to be said about the familiarity that we want to give the audience with our character portrayals, but the writers put us in very different situations and combinations and I think that’s always the fun part.

So, we might have a grip on our character, like, as we do in life, as we grow, the characters grow and evolve as well, so there’s always a constant change and surprise.

Masi Oka, Hayden Panettiere Preview The Return Of Nbc's Heroes

September 14, 2009 |13:10 | Interviews  By : Team X

MASI OKA, HAYDEN PANETTIERE PREVIEW THE RETURN OF NBC'S HEROESWhile the actors of popular television series like "Heroes" are normally tight lipped about upcoming storylines, actor Masi Oka, who plays Hiro Nakamura on the NBC series, talked freely about the return of a certain fan favorite during a press call earlier today with fellow cast member Hayden Panettiere (Claire). "Jayma Mays is just absolutely fantastic," Oka said of the return of Charlie, who had an ill-fated romance with Hiro during the first season of the series. "We just literally finished yesterday shooting that episode and it just brought back memories and the cast was fantastic working with her. Lots of laughter, lots of crying, heartbreaking... everything that I loved about that storyline all jumbled into one. Episode eight [of the new season] is a really heavy Hiro-Charlie storyline but it was an absolute pleasure and an honor to be working with Jayma Mays again."

Coming back for the fourth season, which bows on Monday, September 21, both Panettiere and Oka still admit to finding challenges in their complex roles. "It's a little tough," Panettiere said, "because even though we are playing the same character you really do have the whole writing staff taking us in whichever direction they want to and on this kind of show there's infinite amount of possibilities in where you can go, whether you stay good, whether you turn bad, who you're working with; it's always a surprise." Does it throw her for a loop when the writers decide to take Claire (the cheerleader with regenerative powers) in a new direction? "We know our characters so well now that we can figure out what they would do in these situations and go from there but really you never know what you're going to be playing.
